Playing Dress-Up

Sometimes I draw Halloween outfits (OK I DRAW THEM A LOT).

So this year is the first year I’ve dressed up Darja. She is my interpretation of Perchta (or Kvaternica as they call her in the Slovene Lands—). She’s essentially a minor goddess of spinning and weaving, occasionally leader of the Wild Hunt, a genderflipped Krampus with the tendency to slit up peoples’ bellies and stuff them with straw if you piss her off.

The little distaff she has there is based on the Russian version of the object rather than the German version because gdi this is my outfit.
